Accessibility statement
Last updated: 19 October 2026
This English version is provided for convenience. Only the German version is legally binding.
This statement describes how we make harborbit.de accessible, what we have already tested, what is still open and how you can report barriers to us.
Scope
This statement applies to the website harborbit.de: home page, services, technology, HarborBit, project enquiry and the legal pages, in German and English.
What the website offers
On harborbit.de we present our software studio. You can send us an enquiry using the “Start a project” form or the bill of lading on the home page.
You do not need an account or a login for this. Nothing is sold on the website.
Legal framework
No contracts with consumers are concluded via harborbit.de, so the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) does not apply to this website. In addition, micro-enterprises providing services are exempt from its requirements (Section 3 (3) BFSG). We publish this statement voluntarily.
Standard
We design the website according to the success criteria of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, levels A and AA.
How we implement the requirements
We planned for these requirements when designing and building the website. Whether they are met on every page is checked as described under “State of testing”.
- All functions can be operated with the keyboard; the keyboard focus is visible.
- Pages are structured with headings and landmarks; all form fields have visible labels.
- Error messages in forms appear as text at the affected field.
- Text has a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 : 1 against its background, large text at least 3 : 1.
- Content can be enlarged to 200 % without loss of information.
- Images that convey information have text alternatives.
- If your system requests reduced motion, we replace movement with short fades; there is no flashing content.
- The moving 3D scene on the home page is decorative; what it shows is described in text. “Pause motion” in the footer stops all continuous movement.
- There are no time limits.
State of testing
Date of this statement: 19 October 2026.
Before going live, we checked the colour contrasts of our design specifications by calculation and tested all pages automatically with axe-core (WCAG 2.0 and 2.1, levels A and AA) at widths of 320, 390, 768 and 1440 pixels.
By 15 November 2026 we will additionally test all pages manually with the keyboard and with the screen readers NVDA on Windows and VoiceOver on iOS. We will record the result here with the date.
Until this testing is complete, we do not declare conformance with WCAG 2.1 AA. Automated tests only cover some of the criteria; a complete assessment requires manual testing.
Report a barrier
If you come across a barrier, write to us at info@harborbit.de. Please name the page and briefly describe the problem.
We reply within 14 days. If you need content in another format, we can send it to you as text by email on request.
